Walk That Walk
Let’s be honest; not all of us are gym lovers.
Some of us just want simple, realistic ways to stay active. Sincerely, walking might be one of the most underrated forms of exercises.
Walking has become more than just movement, it is therapeutic. It clears the mind, reduces stress and somehow makes life feel a little less overwhelming.
In today’s world, we are always in a rush. Everyone wants the fastest route, the quickest ride or the easiest option. We choose transportation over movement so often that walking is slowly becoming a forgotten habit.
Walking has so many benefits. Here are a few:
Reduces stress
Reduces risk of heart disease
Protects your joints and increases bone strength
Prevents weight gain
Improves sleep
Increases energy
Improves emotional and mental well-being and decreases the risk of depression
Improves memory
Helps you feel more connected to your environment and community
The month of May is National Walking Month, let’s challenge ourselves to walk a little more intentionally.
So:
o Walk that short distance instead of driving
o Take a walk after lunch or dinner
o Use the stairs instead of the lift
o Go on walk dates
o Make walking part of your daily routine
Sometimes, the simplest habits make the biggest difference. So, walk that walk!
