Attending The Mane Event by House of Medics was such a valuable and empowering experience. It was the first event I’d been to of its kind, bringing together doctors, dermatologists and trichologists to discuss textured and Afro hair through a scientific approach.

We learnt so much about caring for our hair and scalp, including scalp oiling, hair loss and transplants, how different transplant methods work and which may be most suitable. What made the day special for me was the honesty around the psychological side of hair care - the confidence, and range of emotions that can come with wearing our natural hair out. I left feeling seen, and encouraged to embrace my natural hair.

Events like this feel rare, and I’m grateful to House of Medics for creating such a space.
