House of Medics x Anthony Nolan present The Lifesaving Code

A collection of young ambassadors working to save lives, one conversation at a time.

This programme will equip you with the communication, leadership and visionary skills to have meaningful conversations that help to sign people up to the Stem Cell register. Anthony Nolan gives four people a second chance at life every single day by matching people with blood cancers or conditions like Sickle Cell Disease with suitable donors.

The programme will launch with an in-person event on Saturday 11th October in London.

During the launch, you will receive education on the need for stem cell donations, how they're done, and why we need more people from ethnic minorities in particular to join the register. We will also hold small group workshops so you're equipped with all the skills you need to get going.

Following the launch, there will be regular ambassador meetings with the House of Medics team. Joining this ambassadors programme is an excellent way of illustrating leadership and community engagement/volunteering on your university applications, CVs and portfolios. We will also lead sessions on career development and building your personal brand. All ambassadors will receive a certificate of attendance.

In order to join, you must be a student aged 16 and above, and available to attend the in-person launch on Saturday 11th October. The proposed programme for the event is below:

  • All about the Anthony Nolan charity

  • Stem cell matching, donation and real stories
